    ABOUT THE PRESENTER

     

    Jeff Ream is a passionate school counselor in California dedicated to student success. Starting his journey in Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly SLO, Jeff felt called to education, following his family’s legacy. Since 2012, he has proudly served at North Tahoe High School, helping grow the counseling department and drive districtwide change. A lifelong learner, Jeff embraces innovative tools like AI to enhance his work and support students effectively.

    Beyond counseling, Jeff serves on the California Association of School Counselors board, authors The Counseling Geek blog, and was honored as the 2018 California School Counselor of the Year. A devoted dad to three boys, he also enjoys cooking, playing music, and cheering for Everton FC. Whether leading webinars on AI in education or enjoying Lake Tahoe’s beauty, Jeff approaches life with curiosity, heart, and a commitment to helping students realize their full potential.

    ABOUT THE PRESENTER

      KRISTIN NYE is the school counselor at Mote Elementary School in Wilmington, DE, and serves as a lead elementary counselor for the Red Clay Consolidated School District. As her school’s MTSS Tier 2/3 team leader, she plays a pivotal role in supporting student success. Recognized for her dedication, Kristin was named the 2023 Delaware School Counselor of the Year and was a finalist for the 2024 ASCA School Counselor of the Year. Beyond accolades, she is a passionate advocate for brain science, self-regulation, and mental health in schools, equipping educators and students with the tools to thrive. Kristin is on a mission to shift the conversation around mental wellness, championing a holistic, systemic approach to education. Through practical strategies and manageable steps, she empowers school communities to create more inclusive, supportive environments where all students can succeed.

    Join the Vermont School Counselor Association for our first ever Pickleball Fundraiser! Enjoy casual or competitive pickleball games for players of all ages, abilities, and skill levels while benefiting the Vermont School Counselor Association. 

    Having fun and staying active are critical pieces of taking care of our mental health, and this fundraiser is no exception. Join us for a few hours or a full day of fun, community, and the joy of play! There will be a cash 50/50 raffle, other raffle prizes, corn hole, ping pong, and delicious food from Famous Frankie's Food Truck (11am-3pm)!

    Anyone is invited to register - School counselors, their families and friends, advocates, and community members from across the state.   

    No paddles? No worries! The POP will provide equipment as needed.

    TYPES OF PLAY

    Competitive Play

    Want a challenge? Join one of our Competitive Play slots! Competitive Play is a round-robin format with games to 11 points, win by one. Teams and/or players are rotated after each round. Winning teams may stay for up to three games before rotating out. Space is limited in the Competitive Play category so sign up soon to reserve your space! Competitors will have access to the Open/Social play before and after their competition times.


    Open/Social Play

    If a more casual round of pickleball is better for your mental health, sign up for our Open/Social Play! Join other casual picklers for games to 11, win by one. Like the Competitive courts, Open/Social courts will be on the honor system and teams will rotate after each game. 


    Learn to Play

    New to pickleball? Sign up for our Learn to Play option! One court will be dedicated to helping new players learn the rules and techniques of pickleball guided by the wonderful coaches at POP. Space is limited so register now! Learn to Play registrants will have access to Open/Social play before and after their appointed Learn to Play time.
