SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

Counselors across the state have expressed interest in connecting with other similar grade level counselors, while others have identified specific interest topics. Special Interest Groups (SIG) are designed to provide forums to gather to share ideas, discuss contemporary issues, and identify strategies for collaboration to support one another and move the field forward. Some SIG ideas from other state counseling associations have included: Multi Language Learner SIG, Elementary School Counselor SIG, Secondary School Counselor SIG, Career/Technical SIG and Rural School Counselor SIG. If you have an idea for a special interest group, complete this form.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR SIG

VTSCA is forming an Elementary School Counselor Special Interest Group (SIG)!

This group will offer a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who are dedicated to creating a positive, nurturing environment for children. Together, we will share resources, ideas, and strategies to enhance our counseling practices and make a lasting impact on the well-being of every student.

This SIG will be a space for us to explore current issues in Vermont schools and brainstorm ways to address these concerns. Participation in this SIG is open to school counselors working with elementary school students across Vermont.
